Native apps
Hosted screens in iOS and Android apps.
How native apps will open hosted screens#
| Platform | How the screen opens | How the result returns |
|---|---|---|
| iOS | ASWebAuthenticationSession, the system authentication session | A callback to your app's registered URL scheme or universal link |
| Android | A Custom Tab | An App Link to your app |
The screens run on the A2A InstaPay domain, outside your app's process, for the same reasons as on the web: trusted devices, passkeys and PIN privacy. The session tokens, result tokens, exchange and webhooks are the same as for web apps.
What you can build now#
- Everything on your server: customers, records, sessions, exchange and webhooks are the same for every platform.
- Bank linking with Plaid's own iOS and Android SDKs: request the link token with
platform: iosorplatform: android. - Your app's screens, tested against the sandbox with the hosted screens opened in the system browser.
What you will register#
Your app's bundle identifier (iOS) and package name with signing certificate fingerprint (Android), and the URL your app receives results on. FINAP USA LLC adds them to your Tenant configuration.
